New Testament Baptist Church
Thomas and Glenda King moved to Kings County in 1991 with two children. Their desire was to start an independent Bible-believing Baptist Church. They did not know anyone in the area, they just knew God had given them a burden for the people of Kings County.
They began going door-to-door and inviting people to attend the first service that was held on November 17, 1991. They had 38 attend that very first service. Over the past fifteen years God has blessed and the church has seen a cumulative total of over 80,000 people attend since that first service with a high attendance of almost 400 in November of 2006.
The ministries of the church have grown to include Sunday School with a Bible class for every age group and 6 adult Bible classes, an active youth group, door-to-door visitation program, music ministry, Patch the Pirate Clubs for children age 2 through 6th grade, Reformers Unanimous (an addictions program), and a bus ministry that brings people to church from Hanford, Armona, and Lemoore. The church also has a K-12th grade private Christian school that has been in existence for 10 years. The church is also home to a Bible Institute that trains men and women for the local church ministry. In addition, the church has recently opened a discipleship home for men who are battling addictions.
