1 Corinthians 13:1

1 Corinthians 13:1 KJV Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
The context of this chapter is the spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit gives us at the moment of salvation. The Apostle Paul now wants us to understand the motivation behind the use of our gifts is love. Charity, love, is that love that God displayed to us by sending Christ to die for our sins and provide salvation for us. In today’s verse, Paul tells us that the ability to display and use our gift is simply noise without real love. Real, God-like love is the giving of ourselves to benefit other without expecting anything in return. Let’s show the love of God today.
