1 Corinthians 13:11-13

1 Corinthians 13:11-13 KJV When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. [12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [13] And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

We now come to the conclusion of this chapter on true, God-like love. We are expected to grow in our understanding of the truths that have been taught to us in this chapter. We are not to be childish in our life as we move forward in our relationship with the Lord. The chapter ends by pointing out that there are three things that are constant: faith, hope, and charity (love). We need all three of these truths in our life and we need to grow in these. But the top priority is love. Above everything else, we ought to show others and the world around us the love of God.
